Pamela and all,

Thank you for the Ancestry link. I tried it and it worked.

My name is Bruce Dayman. I am new and don't know any of you. I live in
Victoria, British Columbia. My great-grandfather, Samuel Barclay Martin was
from San Francisco (Oakland), as was the rest of his family, who originally
haled from Maryland via Alabama during the Civil War. Samuel came to Canada
during the gold rush but ended up a successful cannery man in the 1870s. I
am interested in tracking his ancestors. I will probably be asking for help
if that's okay. I don't know the protocols of this list yet.
