Neighbors, thinking of my Bridget Corbett over there too, I am reminded of a film. on DVD, named "Milago en Roma" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez--which might provide some soothing irony and perspective to the shock of such practices having been/still being carried out under our noses, so to speak? Garcia Marquez reminds us that these are ancient and universal practices and not till the officers of the sanitation rose up recently out of our midsts, did we later generations presume to think such a thing would ever have happened. It does. Sure did rattle my bones when I discovered it--and struck me with a silly irony at how hard we attempt to cling to our aging bones. HA! As I mentioned earlier, that knowledge has now transformed to a wider peace as I walk the whole hill with the ancestors. Afterall that is how I first came across that wonderful monument to universal brotherhoods that names Thomas O'Donnell. It's still our neighborhood. Theirs, and now ours in all our cyber !
variations. But I do remember the first shock.....JAL
