Stockton has a Rural Cemetery... that is the official name (Rural Cemetery),
although it's not that rural anymore & is within city limits.
I record in my records as Stockton Rural Cemetery, as other areas probably
have Rural Cemeteries also.
Rural in Stockton is located on Cemetery Lane, just north of Harding way,
behind the Catholic cemetery. It is very well cared for & the sexton &
staff are very helpful.

Looking for any information on my uncle's days in Stockton. Marvin "Edwin"
Cook b. 6/5/1913 in GA was stationed in CA during WWII; in early 50's in CA
he married a woman named Barbara whose maiden (nor 1st husband's sur) name
we don't know. Barbara had a daughter (born approx. 1940) by 1st marriage.
Edwin managed the Oregon Hotel in Stockton and they also lived in the Hotel.
One June 10, 1952 Edwin fell down stairs at the Hotel while inebriated and
died of head trauma.
Death certificate indicates he was buried in simply, "Rural Cemetery" which
must be in San Joaquin Co. Does anyone know if there is such a cemetery by
that name? Does anyone know what became of Barbara or her daughter? Any
information appreciated.
