Vitalina A. Fontes


Mrs. Vitalina A. Fontes of Stockton and former resident of Lodi passed away Saturday September 11, 2004, at her residence at the age of 82.

Mrs. Fontes was born December 21, 1921, in Terceira, Azores to Francisco and Lucinda Trovao. Mrs. Fontes was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Stockton, Our Lady of Fatima Society of Thornton and the Catholic Hour of Sacramento. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by two sons, Manuel and wife, Filomena Fontes of Escalon; Joe and wife, Liduina Fontes of Manteca; four daughters, Teresa and husband, Abilio Lourenco, Maria and husband, Felix Sousa of Stockton; Dina and husband, Germano of Galt; Maria and husband, Al Magina of Stockton; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Fontes in 1997, one brother and four sisters.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, September 16, 2004, 10:00 am at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Stockton, followed by interment at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. A rosary will be held Wednesday 7:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday 1:00 -- 8:00 pm at the Lodi Funeral Home.

Lodi Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
