Eva Rodriguez
Eva Rodriguez, 83, of Galt, died April 10 at a local hospital following a brief illness. She was born Eva Lopez on Aug. 25, 1921, in Zina Paro, Nichoacan, Mexico.

Mrs. Rodriguez moved to Thornton in 1981, and then settled in Galt in 1992.

She was a field worker for 18 years, and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her sons, Silviano, Alfredo Jr., Celestino and Sergio, all of Galt; daughters, Maria Elena, Carmen, Margarita, Leticia, Silvia, Karla, Yasmin and Estela, all of Galt; 31 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo Rodriguez Sr. in 2003.

A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Christopher's. Committal will follow at Galt Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Ben Salas Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
