Seeking information about Isaac and Mary Hopper, Mary and her children
were in Castoria San Joaquin Co. in the 1870 and 1880 census. Would
like to know what happened to children? who did they marry? or where
they may have been buried?
Any additional information would be appreciated.

This is what I have:
ISAAC HOPPER, son of C.V. (Cornelius) Hopper and Sophia Chase, was b.
ca.1821-22 in NY (28 in 1850). He probably died in CA in 1869 or early
1870 before the census was taken. He m. Mary ___?___ She was b.
abt.1828 (22 in 1850) in OH (1850 & 1870) or WI (1880). She d. after
1880 when she was a wid. liv. in California.
In 1850 in Warren Co., IL, he was a wagon maker aged 28 (b. in NY) with
$500 in real estate. Living with him were Mary M. aged 22 (b. OH), and

Hopper 38 (b. NY, idiotic). Neither he nor Mary could be located in
the censuses of IL or CA in 1860, yet from the birthplaces of their
children, shown in the 1870 and 1880 census, they moved to CA after
1856 and before 1861. In In 1870 M.M. Hopper 41 (female b. OH) oc.

Mary Ann. Mollie Hopper, was also listed as a 21 year old dressmaker
(b. IL ) and Maggie A. Hopper 24, (b. IL) no occupation, were both liv
in 1st ward of Stockton in San Joaquin Co. living in separate families:
Maggie was with E.A. Stocton an M.D. and his wife Mary 27 who had a 3
year old child named Hopper?, (dwelling and family 42). [Assumed to be
the Mary Ann and Adalaide listed as 1 and 3 in 1850]. By 1880 Mary M.
was a widow age 50 occupation farming, (b. in WI, father b. OH mother
b. CT) liv. in Castoria, San Joaquin Co., CA, with her was son George
and his wife and child, and her 3 youngest children, and a granchild
Francis Spencer 7 (b. CA, father b. ME, mother b. in IL) probably the
child of either Adaline or Mary Ann. Their son Warren D. Hopper and his
family were liv. in the same town.
