BIRTH -- at Old Gulch, March 9th, inst., to the wife of George
JOHNSON, of a son.

HOMICIDE by an INSANE MAN -- Between the 15 & 16 Mile houses on the
Stockton and San Andreas road, a homicide was committed by an insane
man on Saturday last.

THE SAN ANTONIO HOMICIDE -- A correspondent writing from San Antonio
Camp, in relation to the negro homicide which occurred near that
place on the 6th inst., gives the name of the victim as Joshua
ANDERSON and that of the homicide as Charles O'CONNOR. ANDERSON lived
6 hours after he received the fatal blow. O'CONNOR was committed on
Saturday last by Justice D.K. SWIM, of Upper Calaveritas.

PERSONAL -- Dr. DAVIDSON, M. ADAMS and L.T. STARRING, the 2 first of
Ohio, the last of Genesee Valley, New York, all of whom have been
constant residents of California since 1850, and of Amador and
Calaveras counties for 5 to 7 years, will take their departure on the
next steamer for home. We wish them a joyful passage and a safe and
quick return.
