I missed the first message regarding John Black, but I have some notes in
file that might relate. Our interest was in John Black and his father,
Patrick J. Black, a very well known and prominent person in the history of
SLO. Both were friends of our great grandfather, Nathan Cox, b.1862.

Patrick Black was superintendent of the vast "Suey Rancho". (See book "This
Is Our Valley" for further information on the Black family.)
