It sounds like either he was the lighthouse keeper, or worked there, for most times, there was more that one man or woman (there were women) lighthouse keepers, to work the station. Not sure what part of the government is now in charge of them, I think it is the Coast Guard, so maybe there are records, of the people that worked there.

I have just received the following obituary, and wonder whether anyone has any insight into whether a death at this locale would suggest that Mrs. Hall [nee KNAPP] was the wife of a lighthouse keeper. Any suggestions for determining this would be most appreciated.

HALL--At United States Fog Signal Point, [Montara], San Mateo county, November 10, Jennie Eunice Hall, beloved wife of Henry Hall, a native of Pescadero, Cal., aged 20 years.
