No funeral services are planned for Junior Eugene Johnson, who died Friday at a local hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 59.

He came to California from Wisconsin where he was employed as a machinist in 1972. He worked for the Rucker Coll Electronics firm in Santa Clara for many years. Mr. Johnson moved to Santa Cruz last April.

He was a native of Caston, Wis., and served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific during World War II.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Esther Johnson of Soquel; daughters, Ruth Dannesberg of Racine, Wis. And Roger Shoulders of Concord; son, Fred Windberg of Palo Alto; sister, Carla Thompson of Coon Valley, Wis., and four grandchildren. (editorial note – yes it did say daughter Roger)

Following cremation services, ashes were scattered at sea.

Norman’s Family Chapel, 3620 Soquel Dr., was in charge of arrangements.

Contributions to the American Heart Fund are preferred.
