I wonder if someone could lookup an obituary for me. It's for Daniel M.
Burns, died 30 May 1927 in Palo Alto. What I'm looking for is any mention of
when and where he was born, who his siblings were and who his parents were.
The information I have is from an old history of Humboldt County, CA and so
far it's not been terribly reliable. Daniel was Sec. of State in 1880 under
Gov. Pike, so I'm sure his obit was written up.

If anyone is researching a Burns line, this is what I know: William Burns
married Caroline Griffith (or Griffin), probably in TN around 1840. They had
four children: Laura (birth unknown, married Henry Furry in Yolo Co., CA);
Thomas M. (1843 TN-c.1902 CA, married Minnie Brown in Humbldt Co., CA);
Daniel M. (1845 MS-1927 CA, married Emily Schindler in Santa Clara Co.).
