'Grandma' To 52 Dies in San Jose

Mrs. Elizabeth E. Laird, 76, of 255 Laumer Ave., died here yesterday after
a four-month illness.

Her survivors include 52 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Laird came to San Jose about a year ago from Fresno and resided with
a daughter, Mrs. Elbertine Westcott.

She leaves four other daughters, Mrs. Oma Seals and Mrs. Leona Sears, both
of Texas; Mrs. Iona Pretzer, of Fresno, and Mrs. Lillian Walsh, of San
Jose; a son, Charles, of Aubery, Calif.; a sister, two brothers, 25 grandchildren
and 27 great-grandchildren.

Last services will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Willow Glen Mortuary.
Burial will be in Santa Clara Catholic Cemetery.

LAIRD - At rest in San Jose, November 26, 1957, Elizabeth E. Laird, beloved
mother of Mrs. Oma Seals and Mrs. Sears, both of Texas, Mrs. Iona Pretzer
of Fresno, Mrs. Lillian Walsh and Mrs. Elbertine Westcott, both of San
Jose and Charles Edgar Laird of Auberry, Calif.; loving sister of Mrs.
J.R. Duck of Oklahoma, George Givens of Redwood City and Frank Givens of
Texas. Also survived by 25 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. A
native of Dallas County, Texas, aged 76 years.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 29, at 2 p.m. at the
Willow Glen Mortuary, 1039 Lincoln Avenue, San Jose. For further information,
