From the San Francisco Chronicle, of Aug 9, 1916 p 1 c 3: Four men were killed at the Mounlton Station, near Campbell, by S.P. train 87, from Santa Cruz to San Francisco. that ran into their car. They were Cottle, Byron, manger of W.L. Undertaking company, was the owner and driver of the car, a member of a pioneer family; Montgomery, Louis, prominent politician, had been a State Senator from District 28, and was tiring to get the office once again; Helm, W. Terry, was in charge of the Insurance Department of the T. S. Montgomery and Sons Real Estate Company; Keaton, W.H. (Billy), a former blacksmith, now the owner of a garage, of a West Santa Clara-Street garage.

They were all members of the Odd Fellows, and were on their way to a meeting of the Los Gatos Lodge.

The train did not see them in time, and they did not hear the train coming, in time to not go across the rails. They were the only ones in the car.

Has anyone heard of Moulton Xing - Infirmary Rd in San Jose? Supposedly there was a horrible train accident there the second week of August in 1916.

Any suggestions on how to research this?
