I have a photo from circa 1905 showing my Greek immigrant grandfather, Pete
DALIS, in front of a candy & ice cream parlor business. The marquee over the
door reads as follows:
Dalis Co.
Athens Candy Factory
We presume it to be in San Jose. The storefront number is clearly evident :
30
Could it be 30 Market Street?
My grandfather and three others are standing out front wearing aprons or
waiter jackets.

The business to the left in the photo is the Royal Shaving Parlor with a
barber pole out front.

I'd love corroboration of the business and its full address.

Is there a San Jose Business Directory for that era?
If so, would someone be willing to do a look-up for me?

Other advice?
Could I send the photo to the San Jose Historical Association for more
information?

Later my grandfather ran several other businesses, settling on a hatworks he
eventually ran from his home on Delmas.
