I am trying to trace my ancestor Walter Phipps who emigrated from England to Wisconsin, then California. He shows up in the census for San Jose from 1900 to 1930 with his first wife, Callie or Caroline, from Germany, then his second wife Annie, from Texas (Houston?), who died much later I think (in 1974, in Hollister, San Benito Co. CA). Can anyone advise me on how to find out if this address still exists, or where there might be records of occupants, or in which nearest cemetery Walter and Callie might have been buried, and if it holds records? As far as I can work out, there are no California death records which cover the 1930’s. Many many thanks for any help at all, Stephen (in Scotland).
