I have not seen your ancestor's name. I am searching for more information
on Preston Ishmael who is listed as a miner the 1853 Sierra County Census.
Should you see his name as you research, please contact me. Preston is
my gr-great grandfather. He left WI to mine gold in CA and did not return
home. So far the census is the only evidence we have that he arrived in
CA.
