Surname: Ahlfs, Alfs
-------------------------
My g-g-grandfather, Gerd Alfs (Ahlfs), was a German immigrant who came
across the California gold trail in 1850 and wintered near Weberville 1850-51
where he is listed in the 1850 census of El Dorado Co. His journal indicated
that he arrived at Goodyears Bar, Yuba/Sierra Co., in March 1851 and remained
there prospecting & mining until March of 1853. I'm hoping to find some
local documentation of his presence from census, voters registration, mine
claim registry, etc. An information, assistance, or recommendation pertaining
to this search would be appreciated.
