We were in Downieville in 1998 and visited the Mountain Messenger office at
that time. Do not know if it is still being published but have not heard
otherwise. Hope that as the oldest, continuously published newspaper in
California that it is still going.
I do not have info on the Kelley name per se but if would help if dates were
given for those who might have some data.

Also, my cousin James SINNOTT wrote several books about the area which are
available at the California State library which might give some data if
location in Sierra County could be given.
