Is it possible that your Elizabeth Rich is the sister to my Richard Rich? He was listed in the census as having been born in England and parents born in England. Cannot find any record of his coming to this country, but he married Florence Nightingale Davis and died sometime after her birth. There is an earlier record of Elizabeth Rich. Richard was a miner in Sierra City according to the one Sierra Co., CA census I found him in. Which would make sense because Cornwall was known for mining.
