I don't know if you have received the information or not. I went up to Downieville, the last of September this year. They are very nice about letting you use the indexes, but the probate records and some other information like naturalizations are upstairs in the Court House and the marriages, births and death certificates are downstairs. We found the information on most of ours, but had to actually look up the records. She told us they usually charge $20 a piece to look up records and then the fee for notarizing the documents. If you will E-mail me will look up the address we were given to send for more documents we weren't sure we needed. The downstairs court house has the land and mineral rights records, too. They were nice, but overwhelmed. I know. I wrote about all these people in my family in the late 1960s or early 1970s and was told they remembered my family, but all the records had been transferred to Sacramento.
