Regarding my earlier message searching for a William Lytle - I mis-stated saying he worked for the railroad - he was a carpenter, doing some construction at a railroad site near Black Butte (half way between Weed, California and Mt. Shasta, CA.) He was born Jan. 16, 1878, in Canada, and died at the site at Black Butte on August 15, 1926. We've searched death certificate's - no posting of burial site there. Checked with both the Weed and Mt. Shasta cemetary and no record of him being buried there. During that time period, Social Security Cards were not required, so no record of him under the Social Security Death Index. HELP!!! Where else can I search - does anyone else have any ideas? And thank you to the many people who have sent suggestions - although we still haven't found the burial site, your suggestions are much appreciated.
