J. Herbert Snyder
J. Herbert Snyder died Nov. 18, 2000, at Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Sacramento. Born May 5, 1926, in McCloud, he was 74.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served for the duration of World War II. A professor of agricultural economics at UC Davis, he served as director of the Water Resource Center for the University of California. He also was past master of the Athens Masonic Lodge and served on the board of directors of the Creation Milennial Fellowship.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth M. Snyder of Davis; his sons, Craig Snyder of Cedar City, Utah, Neal Snyder of Paso Robles, and Roy Snyder of Portland, Ore.; his sister-in-law, Betty Forsyth of Great Falls, Mont.; two cousins, Don Peaslee of Fresno and Jean Bear of Tillamook, Ore.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial gathering was held Monday. Donations may be made in his memory to the Creation Millennial Fellowship; call 747-6068 for details. Donations also may be made to Shriners Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.
