The GEORGE brothers: John Chowning GEORGE and William Harrison GEORGE, were in Siskiyou County in 1857. They originated from Bourbon and Warren Counties, KY and returned to KY and went to TX. Believe they were in the Army while in CA possibly at Ft. Jones? Need info on what records Siskiyou Co. would have for the military at the Fort. Assistance appreciated as I will be in Yreka after Nov 11, 2002 and can search records. Thanks, bunches.
