In the February 23, 1959 Santa Rosa Press Democrat Funeral Notices:
Knecht-in Santa Rosa on February 22, Elise Knecht dearly beloved wife of the
late John E. Knecht, loving mother of Mrs. Frank Austin. Woodland; Mrs.
Harold Ames, Bodega Bay; Edward Knecht, Windsor; Fred Knecht, Cloverdale:
John Knecht, Sebastopol; Paul Knecht, Windsor; Mrs. Carl Klotz, Santa Rosa;
Mrs. Alton McCracken, Windsor; and the late Tony Knecht.
Also survived by 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. A native of
Switzerland, age 89 years.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Wednesday, February 25,
at 1 p.m. from Welti Chapel of the Roses. Interment will follow at Shiloh
Cemetery, Windsor.

Elise Knecht
Windsor-Services will be held Wednesday for Mrs. Elise Knecht, 89, a Windsor
and Santa Rosa area resident for 50 years, who died yesterday, at a Santa
Rosa hospital.
The services will be held at 1 p.m. from the Welti Chapel of the Roses, Santa
Rosa. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery, Windsor.
Mrs. Knecht was a native of Switzerland. She and her late husband, John E.
Knecht, lived on various ranches in the Windsor and Santa Rosa area.
She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Frank Austin. Woodland and Mrs.
Harold Ames, Bodega Bay; Mrs. Carl Klotz, Santa Rosa; Mrs. Alton McCracken,
Windsor; her sons Edward Knecht, Windsor; Fred Knecht, Cloverdale: John
Knecht, Sebastopol; Paul Knecht, Windsor; 23 grandchildren and 29
great-grandchildren.
