Dorothy Jean Sessions Elliott Seman, 85, of Waldport died of natural causes Sept. 24, 2001 in Newport (Lincoln Co.).

She was born in Downey, ( Bannock Co.) Idaho on Oct. 3, 1915.

She was a graduate of Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, where she earned her teaching and psychiatric nurse certification.

She married Howard Elliott in 1937. He preceded her in death in 1961. She married John Seman in 1969. He preceded her in death in 1974.

She worked at the Sonoma State Hospital in California for approximately 10 years.

She was a member of the Latter-Day Saints church, where she enjoyed teaching children at all levels. She was a home missionary and president of the Relief Society at the church.

She also enjoyed genealogy and needlework.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Robert Tegner of Waldport; son and daughter-in-law Gary and Beverly Elliott of white Fish, Montana; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Mountain Cemetery in Sonoma, (Sonoma Co.) California. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Disaster Fund or boys Town in Sonoma, California. Bateman Funeral Home of Newport handled the arrangements.
