Dale; quite interested in your message in regards to the Freitas family. My great grandmother was named Mary C. Freitas..... I have also seen it listed and spelled as Mary B.
she was born in 1877 and records I have seen list Azores (Flores) as her place of birth. She did have relatives in Petaluma area. the Jason family who was originally the Jacintho family...not sure if that is the correct spelling or not.
Also the Vincent family.... It is my understanding that she had at least five sisters, and that there were many relatives, who came to the area. One sister or cousin settled in Tracy area or Delano, cannot remember without my paperwork in front of me. My great grandmother had several children, and was last living in Fresno County California.... I was under the impression that she had a sister named Rose, and possibly a sister or cousin named Lucy, Louisa, or Lucinda Freitas.... I believe she married Frank Salca....later on spelled as SALSA.
