Archie Henline
Services are pending in the Allen Mortuary for Archie C. Henline 76 who died
last night in a Modesto Hospital after a long illness. A native of Oregon
Henline moved to CA in 1923 and lived in Los Angeles until moving to Turlock
in 1956. He was a member of the Christian Science Church.
He leaves his widow Mildred Henline of Turlock, two sons Archie E. and
Walter H. Henline, both of Turlock, a daughter Diana Anderson of Sonora, a
sister Leona Smith of Los Angeles, 9 grandchildren and 6 great
grandchildren.

Modesto Bee, April 10, 1964
Turlock services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow in the Allen
Mortuary for Archie C. Henline 76 who died Wednesday in a Modesto hospital.
Helen Williams, a Christian Science reader will officiate. Burial will be
in Turlock Memorial Park.

I check Mardch 22 - March 25, 1970 for an obit on Mildred and there were
none. It's quite possible that it appeared only in the Turlock Journal.

January 15, 1988
Jeff Jaynes, 82 of Hughson died Thursday. Services - graveside 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, Lakewood Memorial Park. Native of Hope ARK. Lived in Hughson
since (couldn't read this - film was very faint and scratchy). Machinist 30
years with American Motors. Member Church of Christ in Hughson. Avid
hunter and fisherman. Survivors: wife Althea of Hughson, daughter Vera
Margarette Henline of Turlock, 4 sisters, 2 grandchildren, 3 great
grandchildren.

Visited the recorder's office and took a look briefly at marriage book index
1922-1944:

Most of the early books are out being rebound so I couldn't take a look at a
lot of indexes. I did ask to see Archie, Mildred and Jeff's death
certificates and was told to come back later this week and they would be
available to transcribe. Should find out how long Jeff was in the county
from his dc and maybe it will list Archie's father's real German surname.
If not I suggest you try doing census work for Oregon since you know he was
born there and and didn't come to CA until 1923. Should find the family in
the 1920 census and there are three questions pertaining to immigration -
year of, if naturalized and year naturalized.
