Surname: Heer, Neuswchanger, Ritter, Evans

I'm looking for any info on John C. Heer Jr. or his Nephew James Heer.
John was born in Baden,
Germany abt. 1820 and James was born in Jo Daviess cty, Galena, IL in
1863.
John was supposed to have settled at Big Oak Flat, and possibely
Stanislaus cty after the civil war.
And James lived at Sugar Pine,then at Raymond. He was a RR engineer,
married a Martha Elam
at the age of 60 and had 6 children. I have no other info on these
people, and I'm looking for their
descendents.
