I am looking for information on Addison Cicero JESSUP, a New York City
tailor, who moved to Knight's Ferry, Stanislaus County, CA about 1850,
deserting his family.In 1874 he purchased land in Tuolumne County. In the
1870 and 1880 Censuses, he lived with the family of Thomas ROBERTS, who
ran a Stanislaus River ferry in Knight's Ferry. JESSUP died in June, 1881.
His obituary appeared in the San Francisco CALL. His wife was Abigail ODELL
and he had sons Mahlon Day JESSUP and Henry Clay JESSUP. His son-in-law
Jesse Alonzo BRADDICK may have lived in California around 1850.
