MRS. SARAH PHILLIS, 92, SUCCUMBS IN HOSPITAL
Funeral rites are scheduled Monday at 11 AM at the Shannon Chapel for Mrs. Sarah Phillis, 92, of Modesto.
The 39 year resident of Modesto died yesterday in a local hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Pennsylvania.
She was a member of First Methodist Church.
Rev. James A. Andrews will officiate at the rites. Interment will be in the family plot, Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mrs. Phillis was the widow of Joseph A. Phillis. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. O. M. Prickett of Modesto and Mrs. Carl Smith of Oakland, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

PHILLIS SERVICES WILL BE CONDUCTED TOMORROW
Funeral services for Joseph A. Phillis, 88, former superintendent of city parks, will be conducted tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock at the Shannon Chapel.
Rev. Arthur H. Wallace will officiate and interment will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Phillis served as park superintendent for 30 years, retiring several years ago.
He was the husband of Mrs. Sarah Phillis and father of C. B. Phillis, of Dormont, Pa., Elmer Phillis of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Bertha Liebendorfer and Mrs. O. M. Prickett of Oakland.
