Correct, J H Byers is the only Byers in the earlier history of
Colusa Co, but no known relation of Virginia Byers.In the later
history, John Andrew Byers is given and nephew, Edwin H
Peake,also.Dr Humphrey Peake, Jr, the Dr Peake of Mark
Twain fame was his gt uncle,and his father, Humphrey Peake,
Sr, was George Washingtons closest friend and neighbor.
