Jennie Arnold, Longtime Mt. View Resident, Dies
MT. VIEW -- Services are pending for Jennie B. Arnold, 87, who died Thursday in an area nursing home after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Arnold came to the Turlock area in 1913 and made her home on the same est Main Street ranch until recent poor health. Her husband, A. C. Arnold, preceded her in death in 1959. The Norton Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Iowa, Mrs. Arnold came to Sacramento in 1903 and then to Turlock. She was a member of the Mt. View Community Church and the Mt. View - Pomona Grange.
Survivors include a daughter, Hazella Bauman of Modesto; a son, Dr. Chester Arnold of Darien, Conn.; three sisters, Jennie Wortell of Auburn, Edna Gregory of Roseville and Gertrude Schelman of Sacramento; two brothers, Walter Hunter of Roseville and Leslie Hunter of Turlock; three
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Jennie B. Arnold Dies; Rites Sunday
Jennie B. Arnold, 87, died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 20, in a Riverbank hospital after an extended illness.
Born in Iowa, Mrs. Arnold came to Sacramento in 1903 where she married the late E. C. Arnold who preceded her in death in December of 1959. They came to Turlock in 1913 and she had made her home at the same ranch on W. Main until poor health put her in the hospital some time ago.
She belonged to the Mt. View Grange, Mt. View PTA and the Mt. View Community Church. Her survivors include one daughter and one son, Hazelle Bauman of Modesto and Dr. Chester Arnold of Darien, Connecticut; three sisters, Geania
Wortell of Auburn, Edna Gregory of Roseville and Gertrude Schreiman of Sacramento; two brothers, Walter Hunter of Roseville and Leslie Hunter of Turlock and three randchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at Norton Mortuary Chapel, C. Herbert Lindgren of the Mt. View Community Church officiating. Interment will be on Monday at Turlock Memorial Park.
