Several questions come to mind. In 1930, Claus Road was
Waaay out in the country. The Rural Route number for
Jere and Maggie Walters was Route 1, Box 10666. That
route covered 64 miles from Waterford in a big circle and back
to Tully Road.
How long did they live in that house? We can check the City
Directories at the library, but if another family lived in the house at the time the Post Office changed to house numbers in the Rural Area we may have trouble pinpointing the
exact house. What was your husband's father's name?
How long did he live there? I did not find either Jere or Maggie
in the California Death Index.
We have the city directories from 1910, but our telephone books only go back to about 1970.
All of the information that you have regarding dates and location of the family (same house?) will help. Your answer
from the gentleman also gave some good suggestions. Postal history is probably at the post office on Kearney Street
as it is the main post office. You might stop by there if you
live in the Modesto Area.
