CERES MAN DIES OF AUTOMOBILE CRASH INJURIES

A Ceres church leader died in the county hospital this morning of injuries received in an auto crash yesterday afternoon.
Dead was James Olin Parker, 54, a resident of the Ceres area for the last 36 years. He died at 8:47 o'clock this morning of internal injuries.
One of his daughters, Virginia, 20, is in the hospital in "good" condition with an injured shoulder.

Car driven by Son

Parker was riding in a car driven by a son, John Willard Parker, 18, when it was hit broadside at Crows Landing Road and Whitmore Avenue just south of Modesto at 2 o'clock yesterday. Young Parker and the other driver, Charles G. Chermie, 25, of 302 Oak Street, Modesto, escped injury.
Parker was the seventh county traffic fatality this year. Eight traffic deaths were recorded to this date last year.

Bible Institute Graduate

The deceased was a graduate of the Glad Tidings Bible Institute of San Francisco and was a Bible teacher in the Ceres Assembly of God Church. He was born in Illinois.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Edna Parker of Ceres; seven children, Mrs. Evelyn Pittman, Virginia, John, Esther, Edith, Oline and Phyllis Parker, all of Ceres; three brothers, Paul Parker of Modesto, Fred Parker of San Francisco and Earl Parker of Los Angeles, and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Ceres. Revs. Orville J. Painter and Harry Oeth will officiate and interment will be in the Modesto Cemetery. Salas Brothers-Moore Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
