Hello,
New York passenger lists are available on microfilm, which can be
ordered from any local LDS Family History Center for viewing and
photocopying for a small fee. You can find the microfilm roll numbers
you will need here...

New York Passenger Lists 1820-1897

You can find a directory of Family History Centers here...
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp

You can also find the microfilm rolls at the US National Archives and
some of its branches. Some genealogical libraries also carry them.

Unfortunately, there is no index for English passengers for the time
frame you need. To find someone you would have to look at every
passenger list on the microfilm for the ships from England. The
departure port will be given on either a "title page" just before each
passenger list or on the first page of each passenger list.

Good luck with your search.

Regards,
Joe
