Hi, Anne, Vic--

For what it is worth, several years ago I ran across the following data
from WFT, Vol. 3, pre 1600 to present, Pedigree #5247, Broderbund
Software, Inc., 1966. I have seen nothing since to verify this data.
Maybe someone out there can substantiate it. Is someone dreaming here?

Vic, you said you descended from Henry Gross. Henry's parents were:

1. George Gross, b. 1702 Strasbourg, Germany, m. 1732 in Morgan Twp.,
Burke Co., NC, Mary (??). I list 7 children, Mary, Catherine, Phillip,
Francis, John, Christian (b. 1742) and Henry, Sr. (b. 1746).

2. George's parents were: Jacob Gross b. 1670 Strasbourg, Germany, m.
1695 Helena (??). List 6 children: Phillip, Jacob, Jr., Jans Peter,
Helena, maria and George (b. 1702).

3. Jacob's parents were: Philip Frederick De Gros b. 1647 Mannheim,
Germany, m. Martha (??). list 3 children: Frederick De Gros, Philip De
Gros and Jacob (b. 1670).

4. Philip's parents were: Jacob De Gros b. 1623 Dijon, France, m. 1642
Marie De Bar. List 4 children: Johan, Marie, Louise and Philip
Frederick.

5. Jacob's parents were: Jean De Gros III b. 1603 Dijon, France, m.
1620 Leonore De Briard. List 6 children.

6. Jean's parents were: Jean De Gros, Jr. b. 1577 Dijon, France, m. 1599
Dijon, France, Jacqueline De Berneincourt.

7. Jean, Jr.'s parents were: Jean De Gros, Sr., b. 1535 m. 1545-1570
Catharine Lauryn.

8. Jean, Sr.'s parents were: Ferry De Gros b. 1490 Dijon, France, m.
1521 Phillipotte Weilandt.

9. Ferry's parents were: Jean Le Gros, Jr. b. 1440, m. 1468 Philiberte
De Souriam.

10. Jean, Jr.'s parents were: Jean Le Gros, Sr., b. 1408 in Dijon,
France, m. 1438 Peronette De Royce.

11. Jean, Sr.'s parents were: Oliver Le Gros, Jr. b. 1379 County
Suffolk, England, m. 1406 Elsie (??).

12. Oliver, Jr.'s parents were: Oliver Le Gros, Sr., b. 1355 County
Kent, England, m. 1378 County Suffolk, England, Benita (??).

13. Oliver, Sr.'s parents were: Hugo Le Gros b. 1310 County Kent,
England, m. bef 1355 England, Alecia Le Gros.

14, Hugo's parents were: Walter Le Gros b. 1276, m. 1304 Elizabeth (??).

15. Walter's parents were: Sir Walter Le Gros b. 1250 County Kent,
England, m. 1274 Elianor (??).
