Dear Diana:

I am searching for information on Lydia SIDES. I have very little
information about her, what I do have is below:

Lydia SIDES b. 1840 (another source gives bird date at 1932)
m. Dr. Joel GRAMMER 1851 in Union or Jackson Co., IL
~~~Children of Lydia and Joel
Louisa Katherine GRAMMER - b. 1854 in IL. d. 1862
Ellen GRAMMER - b. 1857 d. (?) in Nevada
Joel A. Douglas GRAMMER - b. 1859 in Nevada
Calvin GRAMMER - b. 1861 in Nevada d. 1863 in Nevada
1861 Dr. Joel GRAMMER died.
By 1864 Lydia had remarried and had become Mrs. W. D. Newton.
Lydia SIDES married Dr. Joel GRAMMER in March 1851 in Jackson or Union
County, IL. when he was 43 and she was 19. (This was Dr. Joel's third wife
- he was widowed twice)
Lydia's parents were Leonard and Christiana SIDES. They were living in
Union County, IL in the 1850 census. Lydia had two sisters and one brother
also listed, but I don't have their names.
In 1859 Joel, Lydia and Lydia moved to the Washoe Valley in what was then
Carson County, Utah, but was soon to become a part of the Nevada Territory,
probably at the urging of Lydia's brother-in-law, Emanual PENROD, one of
the original developers of the Comstock Lode, which had been discovered in
June of 1859.
I would appreciate any information you can give me on the SIDES family in
relation to the information I have above.
