Hi, all--
Confusion reigns again up here in Maryland while delving into the Miller
family!
Did Mary Sigmon's parents ever marry legally? When Mary married for the
first time to Thomas J. Miller on 28 Nov 1886 in Catawba Co., NC, her
parents were listed as Wesley and Amanda SIGMON with AMANDA SIPE as a
witness. When Mary remarried on 17 Dec 1891 Catawba Co., NC to Thomas
Faucett, her parents were listed as Wesley SIGMON and AMANDA SIPE.
Is the "Amanda" listed at first marriage an "unknown Amanda", a legal
wife of Wesley SIGMON, or is she really Amanda SIPE the "witness" at
first marriage and as listed as Mary's mother at Mary's second
marriage? Any "light" on this will be appreciated.
