Subject: A HIT!

On Friday Morning August 14 at 6:30 A.M. after reading my new E-mail messages I
received a hit square in the middle of my breast bone. It hurt. It continued to hurt
so that I decided that I needed to call the Family Doctor and see what he had to say. I
went to the Maiden Family Practice where Dr. John James worked me into his schedule and
did an E.K.G. With the results in hand he said there were some indications there that
he wanted to have someone else look at. He said he would not call an ambulance if I
would let my wife, Janet drive me to Catawba Memorial Hospital in Hickory, NC. We
should go straight there and not stop by our home on the way.
At approximately 3:30 PM if was given a pill of nitro-glycerian to place under
my tougue and the pain then eased.
The family and I decided I should go to North Carolina Baptist Hospital in
Winston Salem, NC.
As the noon meal was being brought into the area on Sunday August 16,I was taken
by ambulance to N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC.
On Tuesday, August 18, 1998 the Catherization procedure was performed in which
dye was pumped throughout my heart to see what was there and what needed to be fixed or
replaced. It was determined that five veins were blocked but the decision was made that
only four needed to be replaced, the fifth located across the top of the heart would
replace itself over time.
About the 19th Kidneys stones were found alon with blood in the urinary track.
Then more testing and searching.
On Friday, the 21st came a medicinal reaction and other studies were completed.
At this point I was moved back into ICU. Now we work toward scheduling the major
surgery.
On Wednesady the 26th we have two babies scheduled for surgery and then you can
follow them if you choose. We dediced to play it by ear and see how it all fell into
place and this would be the time if it did not create too long a day for the Surgeons.
It was over about 9:30 PM.
On Friday, August 28, 1998 I was supposed to be discharged at 2:00 PM however
dut to a problem in transprotation I did not get out until 2:20.
I am walking everyday and should be walkind a mile each day by Sept. 16, 1998
when I return to meet with the Doctor.

Now you know why you have not heard from me.

God has many angles who are very kind to people like me.
I am a very fortunate person.
