George Seitz came to America from Germany and settled in Pennsylvania. Sometime
prior to the Revolutionary War he moved to North Carolina and was one of the
early settlers of the area that is now Catawba County. He was a farmer and
owned a large tract of land on the South Fork River. George married Susannab
Peterson and reared a large family of seven sons and two daughters. The sons
were: John, Joseph, George, Jr., Thomas, David, Abraham and Moses. The
daughters were Anna and Sarah.
