Hello!

I have nothing to help clarify Mary Lucy Dellinger but researching the Reel
line I am curious if the parents of Carl Luther Reel are known. I found
someone listing the marriage of Mary Lucy Dellinger and Carl Luther Reel on
the net but they had no further information on Carl Luther Reel.

I know the Reel's, Dellingers, Stroups, Cloningers, etc were neighbors in
Lincoln Co., NC and there were some intermariages but there are still many
unanswered questions.

I am still trying to find further records on Godfrey Reel and his wife
Catherine "Katie" Cloninger. Does anyone know where they were after Lincoln
Co.? The last record I can find for Godfrey in in the October 1810 court
case of Joseph Graham and Co. vs. Turner Beale and Godfrey Reel, where Turner
Beale and Godfrey Reel sue claiming Joseph Graham and Company are in
possession of some of their property. George Reel, Jr and Alexander Brevard
testify as to what property they have which belongs to Godfrey. Appears
Godfrey's brother George Jr is part of Joseph Graham and Co.

Godfrey had been suing Joseph Graham and Alexander Brevard since 1795 over
land owned by George Reel, Sr along Leeper's Creek, called the "Shoal Tract"
which George Reel Sr and Catharine Snapp Reel sold to Joseph Graham and
Alexander Brevard shortly before George (Sr's) death.

It is beginning to appear that Godfrey may have left NC about 1810 and
migrated west, first into Tennessee, then Indiana (where it looks like
several other Reel brothers settled).

I guess you can say I am desperately seeking Godfrey.

Also, does any one have any information about the first two wives of
Alexander Brevard? While the will of George Reel Sr cannot be found there is
record that Alexander Brevard was the Executor. He seems to be very involved
with the Reel family.

Does any one know who Turner Beale was?

And, Lorena, the marriage bond of J. George Reel to Catharina Schnepp (Snapp)
has been located in Rowan Co., NC. John Lewis Beard was bondsman.
