Subject: Re: [Catawba-West] Conrad or Abram MULL dec. 1759?

Dear Gene,

This is most interesting, and certainly casts doubt on there being an
Abram Mull, son of Christophel. However, there is a problem with dates.
Conrad Mull's will was dated Nov 1760, and probated 2 Jan 1761 in Rowan
County, NC. I have not seen the actual will, so can not vouch for the
accuracy of the date. Is it possible that he made the will earlier
knowing about the impending Indian attack, and it didn't get filed until
Nov 1860 (understandable due to all the turmoil after the attack) at
which point some clerk added the date?

He names "present wife Molliana" inferring there was an earlier wife.
Conrad Mull married (1) Barbara Barbara Hill in PA. The tradition, of
course, is that after the death of Abram (Conrad?) Mull, his widow
married George Wilfong, and that her maiden name was Poffh (does anyone
have proof of her maiden name?). George Wilfong's wife was Maria
Magdalena. Molliana is probably just a contraction of Maria Magdalena.
(Other popular contractions were Marillis for Maria Elisabetha, and
Analisa for Anna Elisabetha.)

Best Regards,
Ray Yount
