More Questions!
Mary Catharine Leatherman b. 13 Apr 1840 d. 10 May 1909 Catawba Co., nC m. 3 Nov 1870 John E Workman:
1880 census: John Workman 32; Catharine 38, wife; Betsy 65, Mother (This could be Elzabeth Leatherman, Wife of Jonas and mother of Catherine)
Sarah M. Leatherman age21, reputedly dau of Jonas and Elizabeth Leatherman m.26 Nov 1881 William Workman age 20. No daughter of this name or age is listed in their household or with the family members in 1880. However in 1870 Catawba Co census in the home of Mary Robinson and Lawson Yount which looks like a combined household (Robinson, Forney, Yount, Leatherman, Yoder and Rudisill) of related persons) is Sarah Leatherman age 9. She would be the right age, but why would she not have been in the Jonas Leatherman Household if she had been their daughter? Answers, Anyone?
Thanks for any help,
Lorena
