Lauva,
I am afraid you need to check the area east of the Catawba River. You need
to check the lists such as Rowan County, Iredell County, Davie County,
Cabarrus County, Davie, Stokes, Surry, Randolph. This would be more of the
area where the persons you are searching for would be found. They might
have visited briefly in this area, but I have never seen any of their roots
in this area. I have known Stirewalts, and Ritcheys whom I consider friends
who had roots east of the Catawba River. The River has always been a great
divider, some good and some not so good.

You should be able to find volumes about these families in that area. The
best I can do is tell you to go EAST. You will not find them here. Tell me
if I am wrong.

Have a great day.

Am working on the above surnames. They all intermarried in
Mecklenburg/Cabarrus/Rowan Co. NC.

Am interested if anybody has any information if any of the following people
served in any capacity during the Rev. War. These are direct ancestors of
my husband and would be interested in sharing information.

1. John Stirewalt/Stigerwalt b. 7/2/1732 married Mary died 6/21/1796

2. Jacob Rutschi/Ritchey b 12/31/1724 married Maria Catherine Mayer
died between 1799-1800

3. John George Ritchey b 1759 married Elizabeth Dry died 1823

4. Heinrich Propst, MD married Caterina Abendschon died 1808

5. Christianus Abendschon married An Caterina Barringer died 1800

6. George Wilhelm

Thank you,
