Can anyone help me with information on George Rhodes listed in the
1790 census for Lincoln County. My 4Xgrgrandfather was George
Rhodes who came from England in 1742. I've found his children
in Buncombe, Henderson and Polk counties after 1820 but I've not been able
to find him.

My biggest problem is that while my Rhodes line was from England,
most of the Rhodes/Roth in Lincoln county were of German descent.
The reason I think this George might be mine is the possibility that
he was in the western part of the county that became Rutherford and
later Polk county.

My George Rhodes was the Ancestor of Jesse Orlando Rhodes
who married Alice Yount from Hickory. They are both buried
in Oakwood Cemetery.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
