Does anyone have interests or knowledge of the Catawba County TOWNSEND family??? Specifically:

Solomon TOWNSEND, born on 6 Jul 1836 in Lincoln (Catawba) County, North Carolina. He died on 10 Aug 1862 in Richmond, VA during the War of Southern Independence: TOWNSON, SOLOMON, [Co. C, 28th Regmt., NC Troops,] Private - Resided in Catawba County where he enlisted at age 25, March 15, 1862. Captured at Hanover Court House, Virginia, May 27, 1862. Confined at Fort Monroe, Virginia, and at Fort Columbus, New York Harbor. Paroled and transferred to Aiken's Landing, James River, Virginia, where he was received July 12, 1862, for exchange. Declared exchanged at Aiken's Landing on August 5, 1862. Died in hospital "in Virginia" on August 10, 1862, of" febris typhoides." [NC Troops-A Roster, Vol. [NC TROOPS-8:152]. Solomon was probably the first to be buried in the Conover Cemetery, at that time the Concordia Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Solomon TOWNSEND and Jemina Ann Elizabeth PROPST were married on 1 Jan 1857 in Catawba County, NC by Col. George M. Yoder, J.P.[YODER, GEORGE M., [Co. F, 38th Regmt., NC Troops,] 2nd Lieutenant - Born in Catawba County where he resided prior to enlisting in Catawba County at age 36, October 31, 1861. Mustered in as Private. Elected 2nd Lieutenant on February 10, 1862. Present or accounted for until he was defeated for reelection when the regiment was reorganized on April 18, 1862.[NC TROOPS V10:59]. Jemina Ann Elizabeth PROPST (daughter of Abel Jessie PROPST and Delila HALLMAN) was born on 5 Sep 1835 in Lincoln (Catawba) County, North Carolina and died on 14 Apr 1926 in Catawba County. She is buried in Conover City Cemetery. Jemina never remarried and she lived with her father, Jesse Propst.

Solomon TOWNSEND and Jemina Ann Elizabeth PROPST had the following children:

+2 i. Fredona "Dona" Elinor TOWNSEND (born on 18 Nov 1857). She married Gilbert Lamar CLINE (s/o Barnet & Rhoda M. (Bolick) CLINE, 11 Oct 1887 in Catawba Co.
+3 ii. Mary Katherine "Katie" TOWNSEND (born on 15 Aug 1859).She married John Socrates SCHELL/SHELL..
+4 iii. Margaret Susannah "Susie" TOWNSEND (born on 25 Jan 1861). She married Sylvanus Gerard SHELL.

I have Solomon's father as:

William Aaron TOWNSEND, b. 31 Dec 1808, KY?; d. 28 Jul 1890. He married to Margaret Elizabeth ECKARD (daughter of Adam ECKARD Jr. and _____ HARTLEY). She was born on 13 May 1810 and died on 27 Dec 1881.

I show William Aaron's father as Jacob TOWNSEND (ca.1790-ca 1870). Who was Jacob?

Anything that can add to this would really be appreciated.
