This is a real long shot, but has anyone heard of anyone living in Tehama County, in the Red Bluff area, with the surname MOUNT? I ran across a tantalizing tidbit while doing a Google search for one of my husband's ancestors that said there was a Mr. Mount who married a "Laura A." who was born in 1838 and died in Red Bluff. I can't find anything out about this person. My own ancestor Laura A. Rexford Bennett (Devendorf) (Murray) born 1838-39 at one time lived in Tehama County, then moved to Del Norte County, married a man named MURRAY, and disappeared after 1880. Who's to say she didn't move back to Tehama County and marry again? If anyone has any clues, please be in touch.
