There is a site that is putting many County Durham records online. I don't
know how many of them are Catholic records, but it may be worthwhile
looking. The site is http://www.durhamrecordsonline.com/

Hi, Mary,
Thanks for this note.
The Victoria County History series was started to commemorate the life of
Queen Victoria. Some counties have completed their project and published the
volumes. Some counties have been published in part, and for some there are
no volumes. I am only familiar with the Lancashire set which is finished - 8
large volumes that started appearing about 100 years ago.
I have checked for Durham, using Google, and the address to use is -
http://www.british-history.ac.uk/place.aspx?gid=11®ion=6
It shows two volumes available on-line. This could mean that these are the
only ones that have been transcribed, or that these are the only ones
published so far.
Hope this helps
