Private cremation was held today at East Lawn Cemetery in Sacramento for
Charlotte May "Lottie" Johnson, an 85 year resident of Capay Valley, who
died Sunday at Hacienda Convalescent hospital in Woodland. She was 88.
Mrs. Johnson will be buried at Capay cemetery beside her first husband,
Richard Bloom, who preceded her in death in 1913. Her second husband (Note:
actually her 3rd)Nels Johnson, preceded her in death in 1972.
Mrs. Johnson, known thoughout the valley as an avid gardner, moved to Yolo
County in 1890 when she was 4 years old. She was born in Visalia and made
her home in Guinda.
Her many survivors include children, Richard Bloom, of Guinda; Irving Bloom
of Spokane, Wash.; C. Delmas Bloom, of Ryde, Calif.; and Mildred Little
of Belle Mead, NJ. A son Clinton (Tolliver) died in 1973 (Note: daughter
Nyla Verna died in 1915). Her stepchildren include Sylvia Bartram of Clearlake
Highlands; Goldie Littlejohn and Erving Johnson, both of Woodland, Richard
Johnson of Esparto; Robert Johnson of Bryte and Margaret Armitage of Ennis,
Mont.
Mrs. Johnson's sisters include Hazel Doyle of Roseville; Maud Grove and
Olive Wilson, both of Healdsburg; Clara Lacy of Stockton; and Dorothy Hogue
of Albany, Calif. There are 25 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren,
nieces and nephews.
Services are being coordinated by McNary's chapel.
