Leatta "Luvan" Cole
Leatta "Luvan" Cole passed away on Jan. 19, 2001, in Vacaville. Born in Jerico Springs Missouri on Feb. 9, 1917, she was 83 years old. She lived in Vacaville most of her life and was a homemaker for the past 62 years.
Mrs. Cole belonged to the Twice Arounders Ladies Golf Group and shot two holes in one. She also served as a former secretary for the Vacaville Grange. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family, fishing, camping and crafting. She wrote letters weekly to her sisters and brothers for the past 50 years. She and her siblings used to visit area churches and harmonize together.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leaton; sons, Richard Cole of Red Bluff and Leon Cole of Orangeburg, South Carolina; daughter, Nelda Fetzko of Roseville, sisters, Lucille McWilliams and Clara Jane Spencer, both of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Lindsey, in 1996.
A visitation was held on Jan. 23, 5-8 p.m. at McCune Garden Chapel in Vacaville. Funeral services were held on Jan. 24 at McCune Garden Chapel. Pastor Dwight Jungkelt was the presiding clergy. Interment took place at the Winters Cemetery. Contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Cole to the charity of the donor's choice.
